During my time at AIE, I had the opportunity to work on an exciting end of course major project that involved sound design and QA testing. This project allowed me to showcase my skills and passion for game design while working in a team of seven individuals.

Our main objective was to create a game that seamlessly combined the elements of skating and the essence of Australia. This unique concept required us to think outside the box and push the boundaries of traditional game design. As the sound designer and QA tester, I had the chance to contribute my expertise in both areas.

One of the aspects I particularly enjoyed during the QA testing phase was the opportunity to utilize my data analytics skills. Analyzing the data collected from user testing sessions allowed us to gain valuable insights into how players interacted with the game. This information helped us identify areas for improvement and refine the gameplay experience.

However, like any project, we faced challenges along the way. One of the major issues we encountered was miscommunication between different disciplines within the team. As the project involved multiple aspects, such as art, programming, and sound design, it was crucial for everyone to be on the same page. To overcome this obstacle, we implemented regular team meetings and established clear communication channels to ensure that everyone was aware of the project's progress and requirements.

Another challenge we faced was the lack of direction at times. With a project as unique as ours, it was essential to have a clear vision and direction from the outset. However, due to the experimental nature of the game, there were instances where we had to pivot and make adjustments to the design. This required us to be flexible and adaptable, constantly iterating and refining our work to achieve the desired outcome.

In conclusion, my experience working on the sound design and QA testing for our end of course major project at AIE was both challenging and rewarding. It allowed me to utilize my data analytics skills while indulging in my passion for game design. Despite the obstacles we faced, we were able to overcome them through effective communication and a willingness to adapt. I am proud of the final product we created, and it serves as a testament to the dedication and teamwork of our entire group.
